We are the only refrigeration engineering consultancy in Europe with an in-house research and development department. This enables us to create innovative solutions and set new benchmarks in the industry. Our goal is not only to keep pace with technological change but to actively drive it. Where necessary, we go beyond the current state of the art – delivering solutions that raise the bar in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability.
At Frigo-Consulting, we believe that innovation begins with curiosity. Our research and development department stands for the courage to question the status quo and recognise the opportunities of tomorrow today.
We don’t just keep pace – we think ahead. From developing technical innovations to redefining what’s state of the art, we create solutions that set new standards in efficiency, sustainability, and progress.
We take an integrated approach – our broad expertise across multiple fields enables us to respond to our customers’ needs with flexibility and foresight.
Our passion for technology and our team spirit ensure that we don’t just provide answers to find current challenges – we ask the right questions for the future, too.
Thanks to our commitment, we continuously bring new technologies to the market:
Energy-transfer-system (ETS)
eCO2cube (refrigeration, air conditioning, heating from a single source)
Europe-wide ejector rollout
CO2 heat pump
Integrated CO2 system (refrigeration, air conditioning, heating from a single source)
CO2 booster system with ejectors
Combination for CO2-Booster with adsorption chiller
Parallel compression
Transcritical CO2 system
Subcritical CO2 system
CO2 overfeed-installation
Liquid-Ice installation (operational until 2016)
We are currently working on the further development of the energy-transfer- system (ETS). This converts high-temperature heat from the CO2 refrigeration system into useful cooling capacity using a Rankine cycle, which in turn relieves the CO2 refrigeration system.
Of course, modern technologies also bring new challenges. Systems are not only becoming more complex – they also require more extensive calculations and design considerations across a range of operating points. At the same time, the demands for sustainability are steadily increasing.
Frigo-Consulting’s expertise is built on extensive know-how in handling natural refrigerants such as CO2, NH3, and hydrocarbons. This foundation is strengthened by a dedicated in-house research and development department that continuously drives innovation.
Additional focus areas include the design and construction of cold storage rooms and cooling units, the implementation of heat recovery systems, and the development of integrated HVAC&R solutions.
The portfolio is complemented by standardisation and best practice documents that serve as practical guides and quality benchmarks.
At the core of Frigo-Consulting’s work lies in independent, tailor-made engineering and consulting in refrigeration technology.
The company places a strong emphasis on the sustainability of refrigeration systems and heat pumps, drawing on decades of experience in CO2 technology and a forward-looking approach to modern system design.
This is supported by in-depth knowledge of relevant standards and legislation, which define the regulatory framework and technical requirements in this field.
Our knowledge is our strength – and we want to share it with you. We are happy to provide you with our publications on request. In our publications, we shed light on current issues, innovative technologies and groundbreaking developments in refrigeration. Whether specialist articles, studies or reports from the field: discover exciting contributions that make Frigo-Consulting’s expertise and experience tangible.
