2.1. Access data

We collect data on visits to the website on our website and store this as ‘server log files’ on the website’s server. The following data is logged in this way:

This is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If data has to be kept as evidence, it is exempt from erasure until the incident has been definitively resolved.

2.2. Contact by email and phone

You can contact us electronically or by telephone via the email address and telephone number provided on our website. In this case, the personal data you provide to us will be stored by us and processed by us so that we can respond to your enquiry, namely to process your message. We would like to point out that emails may be read or altered unnoticed and without authorisation during transmission. The spam filter can reject emails if they have been identified as spam as a result of certain features.

2.3. Tracking tools

Our website uses ‘cookies’. Cookies are text files that are stored in the internet browser or by the internet browser on the user’s computer system or a mobile device. The cookie contains a distinguishing string of characters that allows the browser or mobile device to be unambiguously identified when the website or app is accessed again.

The purpose of the use of cookies is, on the one hand, to enable and simplify the use of our website for users. Some functions of our website cannot be provided without the use of cookies (known as technically necessary cookies). On the other hand, we also use cookies to analyse user behaviour on our website, specifically to measure reach, and finally also for marketing purposes.

2.3.1. Technically necessary cookies

These cookies are necessary for our website to function. As a result, these cookies also cannot be deactivated within our systems. They usually record important actions, such as the number of requests made, edits to your privacy settings or filling out forms. You can block these cookies in your browser, but some parts of our website may then no longer work. The legal basis for data processing when technically necessary cookies are used is Art. 13(1) FADP and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to ensure the functionality and improvement of our website.

2.3.2. Analytics and marketing cookies

Analytics cookies allow us to analyse visitor behaviour and traffic sources so that we can measure the performance of our website and improve the user experience. They help us to see how popular which pages are and show how visitors navigate our website. The information collected is aggregated and anonymous. Marketing cookies enable us to deliver you advertising that is relevant to you. These cookies may remember that you have visited our website and share this information with other companies, including other advertisers. If we use cookies for analytics and marketing purposes, we will obtain your express consent to this. The processing of data for analytics and marketing purposes is therefore based on your consent in accordance with Art. 13(1) FADP and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Once you have given your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. However, this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until it was withdrawn. You can withdraw your consent at any time by changing the cookie settings.

Specifically, we use the following analytics and marketing cookies:

  • Google Analytics from Google LLC, USA.

You can object to the use of cookies, for example (i) by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser, (ii) by using appropriate cookie blocker software (e.g. Ghostery, etc.) or (iii) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link for Google cookies: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB.

2.4. Google Maps

Our website uses the Google Maps plug-in from Google LLC, USA. When you use Google Maps on our website, information on the use of our website (including IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and also stored on this server. If you disable Javascript in your browser, you prevent Google Maps from running. However, you will then not be able to have any maps displayed on our website. The legal basis for the processing of your data in connection with Google Maps is Art. 13(1) FADP and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the provision of the geographical information conveyed by Google Maps to users. You can find out more about the privacy policy and terms of use for Google Maps here: https://www.google.com/intl/en_gb/help/terms_maps/.

We have no influence on the data collected and data processing operations of the social media providers; these are subject to the third-party providers’ respective privacy policies. Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by the social media provider can be found in the privacy policies of these providers provided below.

Without your consent to the contrary, your application file will either be returned to you or deleted/destroyed after completion of the application process, unless it is subject to a statutory retention obligation. The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 13(1) and (2)(a) of the FADP and Art. 6(1)(a), (b) and (f) of the GDPR.

3. Disclosure of personal data to recipients and abroad

In addition to the transfer of data to recipients expressly mentioned in this privacy policy, we may share the personal data collected in accordance with this privacy policy with the following categories of recipients:

  • Providers to whom we have outsourced certain services (e.g. IT providers);

  • Our accountants and auditors;

  • Representatives of us who are involved in the holding or organisation of events and seminars.

When disclosing your personal data to processors of ours, we ensure that these processors process your personal data exclusively for the same processing purposes as we have communicated to you in this privacy policy.

4. Retention period

We process and store your data only for as long as is necessary in accordance with the relevant processing purpose or for as long as there is another legal basis (e.g. statutory retention periods). We retain data that we hold on the basis of a contractual relationship with you for at least as long as the contractual relationship exists and limitation periods for possible claims from us run or contractual retention obligations exist. As soon as your personal data is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes, it will generally be erased, anonymised or blocked as far as possible.

5. Your rights

Within the scope of the data protection law that applies to you and to the extent provided for therein (as in the case of the GDPR), you have the right of access to information, the right to rectification and the right to erasure, the right to restrict data processing and otherwise the right to object to our data processing, and the right to the provision of certain personal data for the purpose of transferring it to another body (known as data portability). Please note, however, that we reserve the right on our part to enforce the restrictions provided for by law, for instance, if we are obliged to retain or process certain data, have an overriding interest in it (insofar as we may invoke it) or need it to assert claims. If any costs are incurred for you, we will notify you of this in advance. We have already informed you in section 2 about the option of withdrawing your consent.

The exercise of such rights usually requires that you clearly prove your identity (e.g. by means of a copy of your ID, where your identity is otherwise unclear or cannot be verified). To assert your rights, you can contact us at the address given in section 1.

Furthermore, every data subject has the right to assert their claims in court or to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority. The competent data protection authority in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (http://www.edoeb.admin.ch/en).

6. Data security

To protect your personal data, we use approaches including encryption during data transmission (SSL/TLS encryption) and have implemented numerous technical and organisational measures to ensure the fullest possible protection of the personal data processed through our website.

7. Amendments to this privacy policy

We expressly reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. If such adjustments are made, we will publish the amended privacy policy on our website without delay. The privacy policy published on our website applies in each case.
