Ground-breaking

CO2-refrigeration system for a logistic centre in Mexico

We are very delighted having been part of such an amazing and revolutionary project in Mexico, In the Mexican market, the use of the natural refrigerant CO2 is rare so far. Mexideli is taking a leading role and has now one of the first transcritical CO2-booster refrigeration system in operation. A major know-how transfer has taken place and the sophisticated technology of the CO2-refrigerations system works flawlessly. Mexideli, since 2014 part of the Emmi Group, is a leading importer of premium food products – including speciality cheese, in Mexico. The new food-processing- and logistic centre of Mexideli is situated east of Mexico City and has a refrigerated area of 7000 m2 with a total cooling capacity of 1.1 MW (medium temperature of 700 kW and low temperature of 400 kW).

Frigo-Consulting International Ltd. participated in collaboration with the Mexican company S.R.T. (Sistemas de Refrigeración Totales) in the development of the system concept, engineering, technical support and start-up of the project.

Many thanks to all parties involved for their commitment and flexibility in these special times, it was a great experience.
